You feel unwell, you have a phone in your hand, and you are stuck on a question that should be simple: which doctor do I even need? A GP or a cardiologist? A dermatologist or an allergy specialist? In Pakistan that guess too often ends in the wrong OPD queue, a fee spent on the wrong consult, or another evening scrolling a long directory.
SehatGPT takes the guessing out. Describe what is wrong in Urdu or English, by voice or text. The AI suggests the specialty, shows you verified doctors in that field, and lets you book a video call or a clinic visit. You pay only after the doctor accepts. One hard line before you start: SehatGPT does not diagnose you and does not replace a doctor. The AI does the matching and booking; a licensed doctor does the medicine.
Not for emergencies. Severe chest pain, stroke signs, heavy bleeding, seizures, or severe breathlessness need the nearest emergency department or a call to 1122 right now, not an app. The full red-flag list is further down this page.
Why guessing the specialty wastes time (and money)
Most doctor directories in Pakistan assume you already know what you need: pick a specialty, then a city, then a doctor. That works if you know that "dil ka maahir" means cardiologist and that your symptom belongs there. It fails when chest tightness could be heart, stomach, or anxiety, or a rash could be skin, allergy, or something internal.
The wrong guess costs real money. You wait for a slot, travel or pay for a video call, and hear "this is not my area." Now you are back at the start, one fee lighter, and the symptom has had another week. Static symptom tables help a little, but they cannot ask a follow-up question or hear how you actually describe the problem. Matching should come before browsing, in the language you think in.
How SehatGPT matches you to a specialist (then a real doctor)
Describe what is wrong, in Urdu or English, by voice or text
Hold to talk or type, in your own words. "Seene mein jalan aur khatta pani aata hai" works as well as "acid reflux after meals". SehatGPT listens or reads in both languages and asks a follow-up question where it helps. No medical vocabulary needed.
AI suggests the specialty. It does not diagnose.
The match is routing, not a verdict. SehatGPT points you to the specialty most likely to help, such as cardiology, dermatology, or ENT, from the specialties listed on the homepage. It does not name a disease or recommend medicines. Diagnosis and treatment stay with the licensed doctor you book.
Pick a verified doctor, video or clinic
You see doctors in that specialty with fees and timings shown before you book. Doctors on SehatGPT have their registration credentials, such as PMDC, verified at onboarding. Choose video from home or a clinic visit where the doctor offers one, pick a slot, and your request goes straight to that doctor.
Pay only after the doctor accepts
Booking sends a request, not a payment. Payment unlocks only once the doctor accepts, at the fee you saw before booking, and your appointment is confirmed the moment payment completes. If the doctor never accepts, nothing is charged. Cancellations and refunds to your SehatGPT wallet are set out in the refund and cancellation policy.
Consult, get your prescription as a PDF, keep a lifelong record
Chat and video happen inside SehatGPT, with no outside links or shared phone numbers. Before the visit, your doctor can read an AI-generated case summary of what you described and the history in your record. It is a summary for the doctor, not a diagnosis. Afterwards, your prescription lands as a PDF in your records and follows you to whichever doctor you see next.
AI match vs doctor directories vs AI prescription apps
These are three different tools, and each has a job. Picking the right one saves you a fee and an afternoon.
| Your situation | Best fit | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| You already know the specialty and want to compare doctor profiles | Doctor directories (Marham, oladoc and similar) | Browse specialty, then city, then doctor. Book video or clinic. Payment usually confirms the slot. |
| You have a common complaint and want a fast, doctor-verified prescription | AI prescription apps (Ilaaj and similar) | Structured intake, an AI-drafted prescription, then a doctor verifies it. |
| You are not sure which specialist you need and want a real consult without paying first | SehatGPT | Describe in Urdu or English, AI matches the specialty, pick a verified doctor for video or clinic, pay after the doctor accepts, keep the Rx PDF and record. |
Doctor directories work well when you already know the specialty and want to browse profiles and book. Some AI health apps focus on fast intake and a doctor-verified prescription for common complaints. SehatGPT is different: AI specialty match when you are unsure, then book video or clinic, with payment only after the doctor accepts. Not DIY diagnosis, and not a substitute for emergency care.
What this is not (read before you start)
Not a DIY diagnosis tool
"ChatGPT for patients" describes the interface, not the medicine. SehatGPT is a finder and booking assistant: it understands your words and routes you to the right specialty. It does not diagnose or prescribe, and its suggestions are not medical advice. If the AI suggests dermatology and your dermatologist refers you elsewhere, the doctor is right. Our terms of service say the same in legal language, and Is SehatGPT a real doctor? answers it in plain words.
Not for emergencies
Some symptoms should never wait for a match or an acceptance. Go straight to the nearest emergency department or call 1122 if you or someone with you has:
- Chest pain or pressure, especially with sweating, nausea, or shortness of breath
- Signs of stroke: a drooping face, weakness in an arm or leg, slurred speech, sudden confusion
- Severe difficulty breathing, or lips and fingertips turning blue
- Heavy bleeding that does not stop, or vomiting blood
- A seizure, a faint you do not recover from, or a sudden very severe headache
- Suspected poisoning, a serious injury, or thoughts of harming yourself
SehatGPT is for the large middle ground: symptoms that are worrying or annoying and deserve the right doctor, but are not putting your life at risk right now.
Example paths (so the match feels concrete)
Illustrative walk-throughs, not case studies or medical claims. The doctor decides what is wrong and what to do about it.
Heart and blood pressure to Cardiology
Ahmed, 52, types: "Chalne pe saans phoolti hai, seena tight lagta hai, aur BP bhi high rehta hai." SehatGPT suggests cardiology and shows cardiologists with video slots this week. He books one, the doctor accepts, he pays, and the cardiologist opens the call already holding his summary and the BP readings in his record.
Sudden, severe chest pain with sweating or breathlessness is an emergency. Call 1122 instead of booking.
Skin, hair and acne to Dermatology
Sana, 24, holds to talk: "Chehre pe daane aur daagh hain, teen mahine se, creams se koi farq nahi." The match is dermatology. She picks a dermatologist, shares photos in the consult chat once the visit is confirmed, takes the video call from home, and her prescription arrives as a PDF in her record.
What goes on her skin next is the dermatologist's call, not the app's.
Ear, nose and throat to ENT
Bilal, 35, writes in English: "Blocked ear and a whistling sound for two weeks, started after a cold." SehatGPT suggests ENT. Since an ear usually needs to be looked at in person, he chooses a clinic visit, pays after the doctor accepts, and the visit note is saved to his record.
Video or clinic is your choice at booking.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the right specialist in Pakistan if I only know my symptoms?
If you do not already know which specialty you need, describe your symptoms in plain Urdu or English, by voice or text, on a match-and-book tool like SehatGPT. The AI suggests the specialty so you are not guessing "cardiologist or GP" from a long directory. You then choose a verified doctor for a video call or clinic visit. The AI helps with routing; a licensed doctor provides medical advice. For emergencies such as severe chest pain, stroke signs, or heavy bleeding, go to the nearest ER or call 1122 in Pakistan instead of using an app.
Does SehatGPT diagnose me, or does a real doctor?
A real doctor does. SehatGPT is positioned as "ChatGPT for patients": it helps you describe what is wrong, match to the right specialty, and book a real video or clinic consultation. It does not diagnose or replace a licensed doctor, and our terms of service say so explicitly. On SehatGPT you pay only after a doctor accepts your request; after the visit you can get a prescription as a PDF and keep a lifelong health record, and the doctor can see an AI case summary before the consult. Always seek emergency care or call 1122 for life-threatening symptoms.
Can I describe my symptoms in Urdu, by voice or text, and still get matched?
Yes. Hold to talk or type in Urdu, Roman Urdu, or English, mixed the way you normally speak. SehatGPT understands the description and suggests the specialty in the same conversation. You do not need to know the English name of a specialty first.
What happens after the match? How do I choose between video and clinic?
SehatGPT shows verified doctors in the matched specialty with fees, timings, and the visit types they offer. Choose video to be seen from home, or a clinic visit if a physical examination is likely. Pick a slot and send the request; the doctor accepts or declines.
When do I pay? What if the doctor never accepts my request?
Payment opens only after the doctor accepts, at the fee shown before you booked. If the doctor never accepts, nothing is charged. If the doctor cancels a confirmed appointment or does not attend, you get a full refund to your SehatGPT wallet under the refund and cancellation policy, which also covers your own cancellation and rescheduling windows.
What does the doctor see before the visit?
An AI-generated case summary of what you described and the prescriptions and reports already in your SehatGPT record, plus the consult chat. It helps the doctor prepare. It is not a diagnosis; the doctor forms their own clinical judgement.
Where do my prescription and reports go afterward?
The doctor's prescription is saved as a PDF in your SehatGPT records, alongside any lab reports you upload. The record stays with you, so the next specialist you book can see your history. How this information is handled is described in the privacy policy.
When should I not use SehatGPT and call emergency services instead?
Never use an app for emergencies. For chest pain, stroke signs, severe breathlessness, heavy bleeding, a seizure, a serious injury, or thoughts of harming yourself, go to the nearest emergency department or call 1122 in Pakistan.
