The wasted-fee problem
Many booking flows take the fee to confirm the slot, then sort problems later with refund rules and wallet credits. That can be fine when the doctor shows up. It feels expensive when they never confirm, or when you booked the wrong specialty because a directory asked you to pick the name yourself.

How payment works on SehatGPT
Describe symptoms and get a specialty match (free)
Signing up is free. Hold to talk or type in Urdu or English. SehatGPT suggests a specialty as routing. It does not diagnose. The longer walkthrough is on find a specialist and which doctor for my symptoms.
Choose a verified doctor, video or clinic, and see the fee first
Fees are shown in Pakistani Rupees before you book. Registration credentials (for example PMDC) are checked at doctor onboarding. You pick video or clinic when the doctor offers both.
Booking sends a request, not a payment
The slot request goes to that doctor. Nothing is charged at this step. You are not confirming a prepaid appointment yet.
A human doctor accepts or declines
A person accepts or declines. The AI does not accept on their behalf, and it does not become your doctor when they say yes. Is SehatGPT a real doctor?
Payment unlocks only after accept
You pay the fee you already saw. The appointment is confirmed when payment completes. Payments are processed by XPay (XStak), as stated in the refund and cancellation policy.
If the doctor never accepts, nothing is charged
There is no payment to reverse. You can request another doctor, or describe the problem again if the specialty was off. You do not pay for a decline.
After you’ve paid — when refunds still matter
Accept-then-pay does not mean every later cancellation is free. Once you have paid and the appointment is confirmed, the refund and cancellation policy applies. The points below match that policy (last updated July 15, 2026). The policy page is the full text.
Full refund situations
- The doctor cancels the confirmed appointment.
- The doctor does not attend at the scheduled time.
- A technical failure on SehatGPT's side prevents the consultation.
- You were charged in error, for example a duplicate payment for the same appointment.
Cancelling as a patient
You may cancel a confirmed appointment up to 24 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours, or missed appointments, are not refundable, because the doctor reserved that time. You may use this cancellation allowance once per calendar month. Further cancellations in the same month are not refundable.
Instead of cancelling, you may reschedule up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. Each appointment can be rescheduled up to two times.
Where refunds go
Approved refunds are credited to your SehatGPT wallet for future appointments, not returned to the original payment method. Refunds are initiated within 2 business days of approval.
Disputes
If a charge looks wrong, email support@sehat-gpt.com within 7 days of the appointment with the appointment details. SehatGPT reviews the dispute and responds within 3 business days. You can also contact support from the site.
How this differs from pay-first booking
A common pattern is: pay to confirm the slot, then use refund or wallet rules if something goes wrong. SehatGPT's difference is the step before that. No charge until a doctor accepts. After you pay, the refund rules above still apply, so a late cancel by you is not automatically money back.
Some apps charge when a doctor reviews a request and issues a prescription. That is a different job from a specialty match plus a video or clinic consult. The comparison page covers the jobs, not invented fee tables.
What pay-after-accept does not mean
- It does not mean unlimited free consults.
- It does not mean the AI diagnoses or prescribes.
- It does not mean emergency care, and it does not mean SehatGPT supervises clinical care.
- A PMDC check at onboarding is a credential check. It is not a platform certification of the doctor.

Start without paying for the match
- Sign up free and describe what is wrong.
- Pick a verified doctor. The fee is on the card before you request.
- Wait for that doctor to accept.
- Pay, then consult. If they never accept, you are not charged.
